November 19 2023

Kind of hard to believe we are really to Thanksgiving week!  I’ve never been totally away for this holiday so won’t think on it too much!!  As always we have kept busy this week!  District meeting on Monday so made treats and lined up some sewing for some of our elders! They ended up bringing me 6 pair of slacks to fix!  Glad to do it!  In fact I told Gary it felt good to sew!!

We had great institutes this week with mint brownies for treat!  We are really enjoying the learning with the kids!  We have been out tracking YSA’s a few times one today after church we did a blitz.  Tracked a whole bunch from our maplewood group!!  I think it was good and had a potluck dinner after!!  We are understanding the culture more all the time!

We ran into a inactive member in Arby’s when we were out tracking and made a pit stop!  She worked there and followed us to our table and recognized missionaries!! We got interrupted by a problem in the store but I think we will go back soon to visit again!

We served with young missionaries at Hope house the women’s shelter ! That is a good experience! That was our Friday night date!  We went to the temple wed morning and stopped at the distribution center after and met a women that went to school with Joshua!  From summerset!

We found a young man. ( or his room mate) so know where he is now that was one or Jordan Hirschis young men!  We will follow up soon there.

We went to the craft fair down town yesterday afternoon with Kuerths and enjoy being with them always! We went with sister missionaries Secrist and I can’t remember but Eagle River sisters to dinner at Kuerths after and that was really fun!! One sisters two weeks here! Fun to talk to!!

We just found out our brother smith who cooked our wild beasts  dinner last week, was mulled by a bear!  He was out fishing in Kenai . He knows all the rules etc. but got in a bad spot! Broke his arm in two places and clamped on his face his stomach and his bottom!!  He will be okay but is really misserable!! Lots of stitches!! He is counselor in mission presidency.  His wife newly working in mission office!

Have a big week coming teaching seminary and Thanksgiving!! Best when we are busy!!!
