November 6 2023

The fact that today is chalaes birthday 47. Cannot go unnoticed!!  What an adventure that started!! The beginnings of our family and the beginnings of most of you!!  Wow it has been a wonderful growing experience!!

As has this last week!  We started visiting our missing young adults with varied success!  We have met one and most others are not where records show they are so we meet others or not!  We are glad we started last week before it got dark so early and before the snow came!  We now have a very beautiful world with about 7 inches of snow!! Everything is covered!  It stays I think because the wind does not blow here!  Or not so far!

A highlight of the week was hosting a Halloween pot luck at the institute for the Senior couples!! It was really good food and  a really fun visit!  Really great people!  Institute was cancelled so we did this instead!!  We also had a great final district meeting before transfers. A fun game night with Maplewood group, hosted by Rachel Morgan who does it all!!  We went to the temple wed night and ended up on session with the missionaries going home.  It was great! Got to tell Elder smith goodbye again!!

Did no bake cookies for institute thursday night but only had missionaries there!  Like 2 others! We have got to get something going there!  We had done lazagna soup and corn bread for pot luck and they asked us to bring to orientation Friday.  So busy morning to get that there before lunch!  We stayed and cleaned up and met with YSAmissionaries to plan.  It was a full week!  We watched a movie and took the night off Friday!

Another highlight was bro. Kinkaid got us tickets for the Alaska symphony Saturday night!  It was really wonderful!  He plays the French horn and it was really good!!  Yesterday we went to both sacrament meetings trying to welcome new military members and then went to dinner at Kuerths.  They are the best!! Really enjoy being with them! Really enjoying our time here!
