We have had a great week!! Really busy up front so slow end was good! We taught seminary Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday. All three classes! We had what they call Thanksgiving blessing Monday and that was organizing , boxing and distributing thanksgiving dinners to those in need in Anchorage. Pu classes helped make boxes and set up room and get ready for the 2:00pm when all could come and be helped getting the whole meal for their family! Gary was outside most of the time and it was 8 degrees but he was with the missionaries and I don’t think they got cold! I helped people shop until 6. We were exhausted and went to a room where they fed the volunteers so we ate and visited and a moose was right outside the door. A real Alaska experience!
Tuesday we taught the kids and did a family history lesson with find my friends and shared our family story. We asked them to bring a story of one of their ancestors that joined the church! So Wednesday the Ysa sister missionaries came and shared theirs and kids shared some. We felt good about it and we are starting to have relationships with the kids. We did enjoy it! Sister young Beus and Malloy!
We were supposed to have a pie party Wednesday night but bishops wife was sick. We ended up having the missionaries for pie at our place instead. Then I made rolls and pies for Thursday Thanksgiving dinner ! We went to Badgers for dinner and we went over early T noon so I could bake part of the rolls there and cook potatoes and make Gravy there. It all worked and 16 of us were there. We really enjoyed the visit and the good food! We ended up staying until after 6 because part left early and we were comfortable there!!
With lots of early mornings we kind of crashed Fri! We did go to the temple in the morning. We also went to a young married social at the Tichshla p ark ward to just answer questions and share our story with them ! They are great! We work with bishop afetea and his counselor with ysa group so we really like them.
Saturday we walked at the mall and then took jam to Badgers and picked up the cooker. We decided to go together down to Kincaid park and find a trail! It was slushy due to lots of rain but we enjoyed being out and visiting while we walked. They are going home for Christmas so that’s a bummer
We went to a Mexican restaurant. With our district last night! We got to visit with new missionaries. The sister APs were by me so glad to get to know them a bit!! We enjoy all these young people! They are pretty amazing!! Today after church we had the pie party! Had a pretty good crowd there!! Church was great too! A couple spoke that lost their son while he was on his mission! It was very special . A sweet spirit was there! I do appreciate a lot of the really great people here including the counselor in mission presidency who was mauled by a bear and should be dead but is totally okay! Can learn from all of them!!
I love reading your life now 💛🧡🤎~ Diane
