June 16 2024

We have had an amazing week from a great service project and meal at  the institute for FHE. To a trip with the Senior missionaries to Valdez!  Both exceeded our expectations!!

Our service project was helping a volunteer organization F.I.S.H. Get things organized for families they help and feed.  I told Nancy their contact that we would have 30 young adults and we had 45.  They got so much done for her she was thrilled!  We did hoagies and treats but they were way more into their project than eating. We were all impressed!  The missionaries came early and helped set up and learn the plan so it was really pulled off by the kids!

Tuesday Gary went Salmon fishing with Micheal Metcalf so I was at the institute alone! Sister Watanabe and Michale came and we made cinnamon rolls to share. Gave them to missionaries and sister Larsen while had surgery and sister white for her birthday!  Funny thing is Sister Michale knows our Rachel’s family really well from when Rach was a little girl!  Fun to make connections!

Gary got skunked Tuesday but got a small Halibut on Friday!  We drove down like 7 hours with Badgers to Valdez on Thursday. Wow one of the most beautiful places ever!  Waterfalls everywhere and greener than anything I’ve seen in person before!  A well kept Alaskan secret I think! Gary went with some fishing and I hung out with badgers! We explored a bit like the fish hatchery and our cabins lake! Nice day they were gone 12 hours but Gary enjoyed it more than the others I think!

Saturday we went for a walk and they biked before we went on a glacier tour!  It was amazing as we explored the Columbia glacier!
Saw lots of wild life too!  Made some Catholic friends and had a great day! Church was great before we head back home today.  Another beautiful ride!  Missed the Kuerths but met new missionaries the Gaileys from Farmington!  Serving in Soldotna!  They are great!

I want to share that I have seen miracles this week in my service!  Our project was a wing and a prayer and I mean a prayer and it all came ofc beautifully!

We love the young people and all the missionaries and all those I serve with in the temple on Wednesday mornings. We are loving our mission! We teach this week so a new adventure!!
