Started the week with a zoom call with my lifetime friends! What a blessing they are and have been to me! Teri is struggling with brain tumors and this has been our impetus to be consistent. We started when Kae was in Tahiti and serving as temple President (Yves). Now we are in Cedar city Alaska Franklin Idaho and kae in France sometimes but we can still visit and share our lives and love. It is a miracle! That was a good start to the week!
Lots of new YSA’s are here for the summer so visited both groups FHE s lots of kids and lots of fun! Hiking , volleyball and more! They also showed up to institute 30 strong which is great! First class for summer!
We went to a farewell of Sophia Eggleston today. She is one of our faithful's and we have gotten to know her parents also! Very few older adults in our world so that is nice! We visited with her mom on Tuesday at the institute for a couple of hours! She is a counselor and has and deals with adhd a lot! It was a great conversation! We also visit pretty regularly with Pres. Azimi. He is a great guy. He lent Gary his waders to go fishing for Salmon Tuesday on opening day! His offices are in the institute now so we see him often!
We have been planning and working on our FHE we sponsor er for all YSAs tomorrow! We are doing Hoagies and treats and a service with FISH. A non profit here in Anchorage! Hopefully we get a good turnout! Always a guess of 20 or 70! A little troubling!!
District meetings tomorrow also! Last weeks was really good with the companionships giving us baptismal challenges in 4 different scenarios. We are pretty impressed!
We also did lunch with Newmans after temple Wednesday. Gary never really stayed in after his surgery but definitely more comfortable with some and they are great friends!
Our adventure this week was going to the Portage Glacier and driving the tunnel to Whittier! Pretty cool! Another gorgeous place to see and take photos! A year won’t be long enough to see it all ! We love it here! Highs in 60s so still layering! Grateful for this blessing on our lives!! We do miss our family! Grateful they are supportive! Love you all!! Think Celestial !
I completely understand your lifetime friends!! Julie , Mia and I are still close thru visits, texting and zooming🩷💙. Kindred spirits 🩷💙
